The Better Health Retreat is a 3-day, 2-night weekend, designed to teach you new and exciting ways to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. We have created a carefully balanced selection of classes, workshops, nutritious (and delicious!) meals*, and daily activities – all designed to develop healthy new habits that will create deep and lasting transformations.

Workshop Sessions include: Healthy Lifestyle cooking class, Aerial Yoga, Hiking the Appalachian Mountains, Nature Photography, Hot/Cold Therapy, Skin Care Class, Painting, Fermentation, Posture Alignment Therapy Assessment. See below for more information about the individual workshops.  

You will also have free time to enjoy the resort's wine tasting room, indulge in our European style spa services, or walk through the vineyard on our beautiful mountain property.

6:30 -Introductions and orientation & introductions
After the orientation, your evening is free to get settled into your accommodations, explore the property, and rest up for a weekend of fun!

Saturday
8:00 Posture Alignment Therapy, followed by breakfast
9:00 – 11:00 Session I (your choice*)

2:00 – 4:00 Session II (your choice*)

Workshop Sessions

Healthy Lifestyle cooking class: No experience necessary. You will have fun learning to cook low cost, nutritious meals. With these new skills, you won't need to sacrifice flavor when preparing low-cost & healthy meals.

Aerial Yoga: Learn about the many benefits of Yoga during this 1.5 hour gentle aerial Yoga class. We will cover breathing techniques, stretching, core strengthening exercises and different yoga poses. A truly unique experience!

Hiking the Appalachian Mtns.: Starting at the Appalachian Trail, you will be guided by an avid trail hiker and safety specialist. There will be discussion on proper hiking equipment, hydration and safety. The group will hike approximately 2 hours at a moderate pace and see some off the trail special spots.

Nature Photography: No experience necessary. Just bring your camera....You will learn skills led by a professional photographer to capture nature's beauty. Topics covered are lighting, composition, equipment and perspective. Create your own masterpieces!

Hot/Cold Therapy: Experience the benefits of sitting in the sauna to increase circulation and then cold plunge. Benefits include elevated energy, recover, immune support, , anti-inflammatory response, pain relief and stress relief.

Skin Care Class: In this class we'll dissect the ingredients of mainstream personal care products and makeup and reveal the dangers of continuous exposure to such toxic substances in chemical laden skincare as well as many household products. On the positive, we'll make a vital comparison to wholesome and organic skincare providing natural beauty and greater health! Feel free to bring any skincare or makeup products you'd like to examine and discuss!
Painting: Spend your session calming your mind with a guided painting session. Create your own masterpiece to take home with you. All supplies provided.

Fermentation: In this class, we'll discuss the history and benefits of vegetable fermentation. We'll go over the interesting health benefits of fermented vegetables, as well as experience "hands-on" how to make simple yet delicious sauerkraut and kimchi :-) It will be a fun, interactive class of fermented goodness!

Posture Alignment Therapy Assessment

Get a private evaluation of your body's alignment and posture using posture alignment therapy by certified therapist, Robert Lander. You will be provided with exercises to help improve your posture and create a pain-free life. Follow-up one-on-one sessions available in-person or virtual for lifestyle changes.

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Availability in all workshops is not guaranteed.
A final itinerary will be sent to all guests on April 15, 2023.
